All better!

Yay! I'm feeling much better and had to go to work today. I have been out for a week (just because of how my schedule worked out). The doctor wrote me out of work Monday and Tuesday and I wasn't scheduled back until today.

I also didn't realize that I am working the whole Labor Day weekend. Saturday, Sunday, Monday. So that kinda sucks, but I did get a week off. Although, I think I would have rather been at work and seeing all my friends at work than to be home sick. None of my buddies were at work today and I haven't seen them in a week. :(

School has officially started back and let me just say that I'm going to kick Statistics butt. I had my first assignment due yesterday and I got a 97. That made me excited. It's the little things like that I get excited about. Like having just enough French Vanilla creamer to go in my coffee in the morning. I can't function without my morning coffee.

I had my degree evaluation at school Thursday and I'm about 2 1/2 classes short of what I need to graduate. Which is ok. It just means next semester is gonna suck because I am going to have to take a couple extra classes I wasn't planning on. But I will get it done. I already feel like I'm never going to get done with school, so I can't delay this process any longer. I still have 3 years left as it is now.

Anyway, onto more fun things now. School is definitely going to stiffle my scrapping fire for a while, so that makes me sad, but let me share my mini book that I did when Jen was here that I still haven't posted.

Oh, yea, one last note...

This is the greatest book ever. It's an amazing love story. And it will definitely make you cry.

And this:

better be the best movie ever.

It comes out September 26th. And I can't wait.

I'm siiiiiiick

I feel like crap.

I can't stop coughing.

I can't sleep.

I can't eat anything good.

And I'm very whiny... obviously.

So Saturday started off great. Brandon and I went to the lake with some other couples from our Sunday school class. I got some sun (finally) and did all kinds of atheltic stuff that I have never been (or will ever be) good at. Although, I do have to pat myself on the back for a minute and say that I went kneeboarding. Yea, I know, it's not water skiing or wakeboarding, but those are hard! At least I could actually do kneeboarding. I got up on the second try and it was really fun. Until I wiped out and aspirated half the lake. The other half went in my ears. So yea, that was fun, and I knew for sure that I would be sore the next day from that. But if that wasn't bad enough, I decided to go tubing, too. And what exactly is tubing, you ask? Well, that's where you hold on for dear life to the tube that is hanging by a rope (literally) to the back of the boat that is pulling you along at what you can only assume is like, at least 100 miles an hour. Oh, and the whole time this is going on, I'm riding in the middle of 2 boys. So everytime the tube hit a bump and we would go flying above the tube, they both landed on me. Brandon was the first to fall off (haha!). And then we went again, and that's the time I totally wiped out. The best way to describe it is that I did a cannonball slide across the water. Yea, that sounds about right. Both my elbows are tore up because I held on too long for fear of doing what I inevitably did in the cannonball. Overall though, I have to admit, as horrible as all that sounds, we had a great time.

What I didn't realize until later though was that the headache and sore throat that I woke up with on Saturday was actually something. After the lake, we came home and I took a little 15 minute power nap because my head hurt so bad. Which I attributed to getting my brain tossed about in my head on the tube. Then we went to the cookout and had a great time seeing everyone.

By Sunday night, when the headache-slash-swollen lymphnodes-slash-fever of 101.3-slash-sore throat was no better, I figured I should get that looked into. And now I'm out of work. But for real, I would rather be there now than feeling like this.

Oh, and I do have pictures of me in all my almost Olympics-worthy performance from Saturday that I will post later! I can't give y'all too much excitment in one day, can I?

Busy Week!

Lots to share with everyone!

Let's start where I left off... Jen came in about a week and a half ago, and we had a blast! She made dinner for us one night (yes, that's right, the guest made me dinner in my own house) and let me just say, that it was delish! I was questioning her at first, but it was great. I'm learning to step out of my box and try new things even if I don't think I will like it, because most of the time, I end up liking it. We went to Charlotte on Friday and hit some scrappy stores down there and ate lunch with her sis. We actually did do some scrapping while she was here, too! Here's proof:

And we can't forget the famous "two thumbs up"! LOL

(Poor Amber was so confused...)

Two thumbs up for laptops:

That Sunday, we went to the family reunion up in the mountains. We always have so much fun seeing everyone. Well, let me clarify that a little... there are some people up there that I only see once a year, at the reunion, and then there's my real family. (Does that sound bad?) Those are the ones that I wish lived closer so that I could see them more often. Anyway... here's some of my fave pics from the reunion.

OMG, how much does my camera ROCK?!?! I can't believe I took this. Granted, I took about 5,000 pics of butterflies, but still. My camera rocks and so do I.
And here is Mackenzie after our butterfly-chasing session. She finally caught one. Don't worry, no butterflies were harmed that day.

Here's me and Mackenzie and some cousin I didn't know I had in the creek. It was such a fun day pretending like I was their age again. Unfortunately, I'm sad to say that I didn't catch a salamander like I used to. I was the bomb... what happened?

And here's a kind of blurry one because my hubby didn't listen to me when I said, "baby, don't use that lens. It makes everything blurry."... Oh, well. Maybe one day he will learn to listen to me.

And one more of Mackenzie from when we went on a trip around grandma's old house with our cameras.

And I never loaded pics of my FAB birthday cake. Yea, that's right. I'm still talking about it.

Anyway, here's a couple more LO's I've done since Jen left... I had the mojo left for a couple days... or at least I like to think so.

So school is starting back next week. I'm kind of looking forward to it, just because that's how I always get when it's time for school after summer break. And even though I did take a class this summer, it was really short and I've been off for about 2 months now. I feel like I'm ready, but let's give that about 2 weeks or so and I'll be back to, OMG, I don't wanna do this... I have to remember it's for the greater good, though. I really don't care about these classes for my RN-BSN because, well, I'm already a nurse. But I have to do this to get to the next step. Which, hopefully will be grad school next fall. But first, I must make it through statistics. I have been dreading this class FOREVER!!! Anyone wanna tutor me? Or just take it for me...? It is online! :)

I have one more project I did when Jen was here, but it's way too many pics to load right now. And btw, does Blogger hate me? Why doesn't it make my pictures big if you click on them? Am I doing something wrong?
Night!

A little update from the last few days... from Jen, but still.

I have a marvelous family reunion tomorrow! Actually, it is quite fun. And LOTS of food! So after that, I should be posting my own thoughts about the weekend.

We have had a blast, done lots of shopping that should last me to the end of eternity for scrappy stuff (should being the key word), and watched some NFL!

So yea, check back soon!

364 more days

I'm totally a kid when it comes to my birthday. I love it. It's the greatest day of the year. So August 5th is probably my least favorite day of the year, because it's the day that my next birthday couldn't be farther away from. The only good thing about today is that my birthday cake wasn't ready yesterday, so we are having cake tonight. From Coldstone. Yum!

Yesterday was a good day. I got all kinds of calls and texts from friends and family! And I got some scrapping done, and that always makes for a good day. We went out to eat last night at Arigato's and got waaaay too much food. It was DELISH!!!

Jen is coming on Thursday and we are going to Charlotte on Friday for lunch w/her sister and to check out to scrap stores down there.

Good news about my baby girl! Her platelets are back up! We took her to the vet yesterday and they just called and said that they looked good! So we are headed to my mom's house to get Titan in a few minutes. I know it probably sounds silly to people who don't have pets and who just don't get it, but I think they miss each other. They haven't seen each other in over a week, and neither one knows what happened to the other one.

Update!

So the baby girl is home as of Thursday afternoon. She was verrrry sleepy yesterday and today. I assume she didn't get much sleep in the doggie ICU. I know we don't let people get much sleep. I think she is finally catching up on her rest and getting to be her old self again. I hope, at least. She did get sick this morning because I gave her all her meds and then she didn't eat. The thing about Tierra is that she is a spoiled little princess. And apparently, when she was at the vet, they gave her canned food. So when she got home... and I gave her DRY food!!!! OMG, she was so offended! LOL So I had to go to the grocery store just to get food for her. Since I did that, she has been much better! :)

On another note, I'm still sad about the beach, but the thing that's getting me through it is that is knowing that my super great friend is coming down on Thursday! YAY! Props to her, by the way, for making the Say It In Scrap Design Team. She rocks. Yea, so we are definitely going to get some scrapping done next week, for sure! Speaking of which... there's a couple new LO's for you to enjoy up there! ^^^^^^

Ok, so that's all for now! I gotta get in the bed so I can go to work tomorrow. ICK!

the randomness that is deah... thoughts, ponderings, and musings... with some scrapping thrown in
