No more beach trip :(

So the last few days I have been in denial, but now I've come to terms with the fact that our beach vacation is a no-go. My little baby girl Tierra is in the vet hospital and has been since Monday night. Here's what happened. Monday night, she was bleeding a little and I noticed a lot of bruising on her abdomen and legs. When I saw the bruising, I knew something was wrong and we took her to the emergency vet. When we first got there, they took her right back. They came out a couple minutes later and asked if she had gotten into any poison or chemicals! Yea, that's not gonna scare me at all! But no, she hadn't. So they ran some bloodwork... 2 hours later, they said they wanted to keep her for the night because her platelets were really low. As in like, almost non-existant. So, needless to say, I was freaking out.

The next morning, they re-ran the labs and they were still the same. The ultrasound of her abdomen was normal, so that's good, I guess. It's probably an auto-immune disease that is killing her platelets. The only thing to do is just wait for her platelets to come up. The vet called me this morning to say that they wanted to keep her tonight, too, and then we will recheck things again in the morning and see where we stand. So far, her platelets haven't gone up at all.

Yesterday, we went to go see her and she is so sweet. She doesn't even act like anything is wrong with her. Of course, I took my camera to get some pictures, so here they are:

So there are two problems with the beach trip that seem to be hindering it, one is that the emergency vet certainly ain't cheap, and two is that when Tierra does get to come home, if her platelets aren't back to normal yet, she can't be around other dogs, especially Jasmine. If Jasmine were to pounce on Tierra (which is a great possibility), there is a chance that Tierra might bleed. The original plan was to keep the doggies at my parent's house while we were at the beach, but now, Titan and Jasmine have to stay with them anyway. And if we go to the beach, where will Tierra go? Therefore, no beach trip this weekend.

Hopefully tomorrow my little baby will be able to come home. Keep your fingers crossed.

Whew!

We are aaaalmost done with the room! We finished putting together the storage stuff today and I organized my stuff and OMG, I love my room. The only thing left to do is put up my peg board (cuz I'm copying my friend Jen). So yay, I can't wait to scrap.

Speaking of not being able to wait for something... Brandon and I are going to the beach next weekend! I am so ready to go. And here's what I want to do while we are there... nothing. Absolutely nothing. I want to sit on the beach and read a book and get a tan. We are going to Wrightsville Beach, which I have never been to. I had thought about going to Hilton Head, because I've heard good things about that beach, too, but we went with Wrightsville. Either way, I just want a beach. We are going to be down for my birthday, so that should be fun!

And as for our computer, it's dead. The hard drive is shot. And what I want to do is just get a new computer, but I don't know if I can get Brandon to go for that, but I'm working on it. He wants to just rebuild ours.

Changing subjects again... who watched So You Think You Can Dance on Thursday night? Well, if you didn't, then don't. It's depressing. Although, Comfort did go, so that was good. But Will went home... WTF is wrong with America???

Ok, so keep your fingers crossed that I can get a new computer, but until that decision gets made, I will continue to computer-nap my mom's.

Oh yea, on a side note, my birthday is less than 2 weeks away... just in case anyone wants to know! lol The actual day is August 4th, but I will be accepting presents anytime before or after that as well. :)

Hope everyone has a good rest of the weekend!

Scrap-iness=Happiness

So, here's some new ones from my scrapping weekend in Baltimore. We are redoing our office-slash-my scrapping room. I have nowhere to scrap right now and it's driving me CRAZY! Hopefully, we are painting tomorrow and then finishing up on Thursday, which means *gasp*, time to organize scrap stuff! Yay!

Let me not forget to give props to my girls Cathy and Aja for their labels that I used on a few of these LO's. Check out their etsy stores here: Aja and Cathy

Photoshop

is amazing. I've got the CD and I need to load it on my computer. Too bad my computer doesn't work. This pic was taken by my great photographer friend Jen and I love what she has done with it.

About why my computer doesn't work...It crashed last night. I hate it. I frigging hate my computer. All I was doing was trying to upload my pictures to snapfish. And the computer came up with some error message that was an entire screen long and stayed on the screen for about half of a second before it tried to restart. And that's where the problem is. It stays on the start-up screen FOREVER and never kicks over the log in screen. So, yea, I'm not happy about that. Obviously, I'm using my mom's computer again. God bless her computer. Let's hope I don't mess it up, too...

Two last pictures... of my new haircut! :)

Ok, I'm done for now!

Super pissed!

Ummm so I'm so mad at America right now. I am ob-freaking-sessed with So You Think You Can Dance. And this past week was the week that the judges stopped voting out the one that they wanted out of the bottom three. And America got it WRONG!

Just in case you wanna know... here's the story:
In the top 12, Comfort (one of the dancers) got voted out and Jessica (another dancer) made it into the top 10. Well, Jessica got hurt last week, so they invited Comfort back (I guess to have an even number of guys and girls). Well, Comfort SO should have gone this week, but, alas, my girl Kherington got the boot... I was so super pissed Thursday night!

If I could figure out how to put a YouTube video on here, I would put her solo on, so instead, I'll put the link. Also, if someone could say, "Hey, Deah! This is how you add a video to your blog!", that would be great.

So go watch it. It's great. Your welcome. lol

That's all for now. :)

Waaaay back to May...

So, I thought I would share some pics with whoever is still reading this since it has been sooooooo long. (It seems that is always how I start my blogs, hmm.) But anyway... I went to Chicago for a work conference back in May. Brandon came up on Friday after the conference and we stayed in the city for the weekend. We went to all the sites like the Sears Tower and the Art Institute of Chicago. We had a great weekend and the conference was awesome, too! I learned SOOOO much!. It was a conference for critical care nurses and the technical name for it is "National Teaching Institute and Critical Care Exposition." Yea, fancy, I know! So anyway, I didn't really know what it was all about until I went and oh my goodness! There was so much to do! I am a HUGE dork and I was like a kid in a candy store with all the classes to chose from. And I was there with one of my best friends from work and one of my best friends from class. I also very much enjoyed my night alone in the city before Brandon got there. It was very relaxing and kind of liberating. (This is going to sound silly but...) I felt so grown up. Ok, so here's some pictures!

I don't know how many people have seen Ferris Bueller's Day Off... (I would hope everyone because it's a classic) but do you remember the part in the movie where they go to the Sears Tower and they look over the rail down at the bustling city below? Well, that's what I was trying to do here, but apparently either I'm really short or they are really tall or they moved the rail back because I could NOT get to the freaking window. Oh, well.

So here's Brandon in deep thought reading one of the plaques at the top of the Sears Tower...

And I thought it would be cool to take a pic in the elevator that for real went so fast that my ears popped like, 3 times between the ground and the observation deck. And this is, I think, my fave pic from the whole week... the Sears Tower up close and personal.

And of course, you can't go to Chicago and not get Chicago-style pizza, right? So we did. I did with Jill one night and then I did again with Brandon when he got there. You definitely have to be hungry and in the right mood to eat that pizza... but it was DELISH!

Brandon and I went on a riverboat cruise the last night we were there and I got some great pictures, even if I do say so myself!

So yea, lemme finish this blog by saying that I completely agree with my friend Jen who said, and I quote, "blogger is pissing me off!" And I couldn't agree more.

I remember now why I don't blog more... cuz I'm hella frustrated now. I hear typepad calling me...

the randomness that is deah... thoughts, ponderings, and musings... with some scrapping thrown in
